Introducing KJ Fire Safety

KJ Fire Safety are commercial fire alarm specialists. Based in sunny Wigan we are family owned and managed by father-daughter team Nigel and Heather. Nigel started out in the industry back in 1985 installing systems before moving into a technical sales role and finally starting out on his own in 2014. We live and breathe fire alarm systems! Design, installation, maintenance – we do it all, and you’ll be hard pushed to find someone more knowledgeable about them than our team. We look after a variety of businesses in the North West and beyond. From nursery schools and care homes to apartment blocks, factories and bars and we are on hand to help you achieve compliance and peace of mind.

Why did you chose to support Derian House Children’s Hospice?

We got invited along to one of the open days and loved the positive impact Derian has on our local community so knew we wanted to get involved straight away. The difference the hospice makes to families with sick children is incredible. We thought going in to this that the hospice might be a sad place but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We love that it is such a happy, inviting environment!

How have you been getting involved?

Our team have taken part in a number of challenges to raise awareness for Derian including the Lake District’s 3 Peaks, a Manchester – Blackpool bike ride and a 10k walk. We also organised a Midsummer’s Night Party with live music, cocktails and pizza and invited all our lovely business friends and suppliers to come along for a fabulous evening of fun and laughter. We had some days in the diary to crack on with some gardening at the hospice but unfortunately it got postponed due to Covid. We are really looking forward to coming in when we can and will get stuck in to the amazing events Derian set up such as Bail Me Out.

What are the benefits of working in Partnership with Derian House?

One of the main benefits for us has definitely been team building. It’s been great having the whole team involved in planning and attending the events and challenges we have taken part in. It’s also nice for the team to know they are helping fund vital care for children in our area and making a positive impact on the local community. We’ve found our public perception has improved too and it’s a brilliant talking point at networking opportunities.

What’s next?

We have organised a crazy golf networking day for the beginning of September. It will take place at Haigh Hall Country Park in Wigan and sure to be a great day for all! You can call our team for more information on how to get involved with this.
